BERLIN — “Dances With Wolves” sequel “The Holy Road” will be one of the projects backed by Internationale Medien and Film’s third film fund, the $132 million IMF 3.
Internationalmedia, which has a first-look deal with fellow Munich outfit IMF, acquired the rights to “The Holy Road” last month via L.A.-based subsid Pacifica Film Development.
The two-year blind fund will bankroll approximately 10 pics in the next four years and projects will have guaranteed distribution agreements with a major U.S. studio before they go into production. The fund will be sole producer and hold the copyright to each of the productions.
IMF plans to produce “The Holy Road” with Barry Spikings for Internationalmedia, which holds world rights to the project.
Separately, Grosvenor Park will release a new open-ended blind fund in Germany that could raise up to $140 million for projects.
