Watts back in WB’s international fold

Exec to manage division's cross-departmental marketing operations

HOLLYWOOD — Veteran international marketing film exec Fiona Watts is returning to Warner Bros. Pictures as senior VP of global marketing. Watts previously spent 10 years at Warners, most recently as veep of international publicity, before leaving in 1998 to return to her native England.

In the newly created post, Watts will be responsible for managing the division’s cross-departmental marketing operations, including supervision of international campaign development, publicity, media, research and promotion, as well as working on companywide integrated promotion efforts.

She also will work with Warners’ regional offices and operations in local markets, overseeing development of marketing strategies. Watts, who will report directly to president of international marketing Sue Kroll, will be based at Warners’ home office in Burbank.

Watts spent the past two years as a freelance marketing consultant in London, most recently working with DreamWorks on the blockbuster toon pic “Shrek.”

Watts joined Warners’ London operations in 1988 as manager, European advertising and publicity. She relocated to Burbank in 1997 and was named vice prexy of international publicity.

Prior to joining Warners, she was affiliated for five years with Australia’s Village Roadshow Corp.
