Warners on pic’s ‘Point’

Maxwell's first novel optioned, Moss to adapt

In a deal valued at mid- against high-six figures, Warner Bros. Pictures has optioned John Maxwell’s first novel, “Point Fury,” and is in negotiations with screenwriter Marc Moss (“Along Came a Spider”) to adapt.

The psychological thriller follows an aspiring rock musician who’s asked to house-sit by a would-be benefactor and finds himself in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse. Scribner’s will publish the book in April.

Warners exec VP production Kevin McCormick brought the project into the studio.

Maxwell, a musician and music editor, is repped by the William Morris Agency, as is Moss.
