UK’s Film co. to sell Russell’s ‘Usher’

World Brief

London-based international sales firm the Film Co. will sell all rights and territories to director Ken Russell’s film “The Fall of the Louse of Usher.”

Pic, a campy update of Edgar Allan Poe’s classic horror story “The Fall of the House of Usher,” is lensing in the U.K. using digital media.

Story centers on a vicious, wife-murdering rock star whose treatment in a lunatic asylum by a doctor (Russell), promises to shock and, in his own words, “penetrate the steamy depths of sexual depravity.” Pic’s produced by Russell’s own Gorsewood studios.
