50-second movie spoofs gameshow obsession

LAS VEGAS — At the ShoWest Awards Banquet, UCLA fourth-year film student Peter Hunziker was awarded the 2001 Coca Cola Refreshing Filmmaker’s Award for his short “You Too Could Be a Winner.” Pic will be shown for six weeks on 13,000 screens nationwide as pre-feature entertainment, starting April 27.

Set in a trailer park, the 50-second film spoofs the entertainment and excitement inherent in gameshows for the at-home viewer. The short was selected for its originality, entertainment and production values by a panel of film industry experts.

Hunziker received a cash prize of $10,000.
