TriPix, New Line ink wide output deal

Pact takes effect in January, coincides with Mandalay renewal deal

MADRID — Top Spanish indie distribber TriPictures has concluded an output deal with New Line encompassing all NL pics excluding “The Lord of the Rings Trilogy,” which will continue to be handled by Aurum.

The deal, which takes effect in January, coincides with a renewal of TriPictures’ long-term deal with Mandalay, and with a two-year output agreement with the Mutual Film Group.

“These deals confirm our definitive consolidation as an indie distributor. They give us a large stability in links to prestige product providers,” TriPictures prexy Felipe Ortiz told Daily Variety. “We will now release 18 to 20 strong titles a year, but we will remain a boutique, carefully launching every title.”
