Sweden’s Filmpool in on ‘Trick’

Swedish regional film center Filmpool Nord is building a soundstage for Christoffer Panov and Cristjan Eklof’s “The Dog Trick,” a $1.3 million Omega Film romantic comedy that starts filming next month.

Omega producer Peter Kropenin has packaged the feature with Filmpool Nord, Scanbox and Sonet Film.

According to center managing director Per-Erik Svensson, the studio will also host two Swedish-Finnish co-productions backed by Finnish Filmproduction’s Claes Olsson: Arto Koskinen’s “The Escape Artist” and Klaus Haro’s “As If I Didn’t Exist.” Both pics are budgeted at about $1.6 million.
