Snapper places Smile on prod’n

McNally's 'Garden,' Ramage's 'Prayer' optioned

New York-based production company Snapper Films has forged a three-year deal with Denmark’s Smile Entertainment to produce English-lingo features, beginning with thrillers Tom Griffin’s “Fidelity,” helmed by Snapper CEO Juha Wuolijoki, and Arto Halonen’s “The Guardian Angel.”

Snapper also has optioned the rights for Terrence McNally’s play “A Perfect Garden,” and “Stigmata” writer Rick Ramage’s “Luci’s Prayer.” Both will shoot this year, the latter as part of the company’s pact with Berlin’s EuroArts Entertainment.

Founded by Timo Lahtinen, Smile Entertainment recently slated three other projects for the Scandinavian market.
