Pic skedded to begin lensing next year
Call it “A Knight’s Tale” reunion.
Thesp Mark Addy will reteam with fellow “Knight” alumni Heath Ledger, Shannyn Sossamon and helmer Brian Helgeland in supernatural thriller “Sin Eater.”
Addy will play Father Thomas Garrett, who helps a young priest (Ledger) and a detective (Sossamon) solve a case involving a corpse covered with religious symbols.
Former Polygram Filmed Entertainment prexy Michael Kuhn and his new production company will co-finance and produce the pic with Fox. Pic is budgeted at $30 million-$40 million (Daily Variety, Dec. 4).
Craig Baumgarten will produce with Helgeland, while Kuhn and Tom Hammel will exec produce. Fox production prexy Hutch Parker is overseeing the pic for the studio. Pic is skedded to start lensing early next year in Rome.
Kuhn’s as-yet-untitled London-based company recently inked a four-year, 10-pic distribution deal with Fox. “Sin Eater,” which was originally set up at the studio, will be the Kuhncompany’s first pic. Fox will distribute the film worldwide.
