Silver Prods. plans ‘Party’

Rothberg pitches, scores co-producer credit on CGI pic

Universal-based Casey Silver Prods. has preemptively scooped up “Party Animals,” a pitch delivered by scribe Jeff Rothberg. The shingle coughed up mid-to high-six figures from its discretionary fund.

Rothberg will receive a co-producer credit on the live-action/CGI project. Silver exec Paul Brehme brought it into the company.

“Party” is a comic journey centering on an endangered lizard that becomes prey to a relentless pair of pet dealers. To elude capture, the lizard links up with a coterie of eccentric reptiles with a proclivity for performing at children’s birthday parties.

Repped by Santos-Fischer Management and WMA, Rothberg penned “Bogus,” “A Simple Wish” and “The Amazing Panda Adventure.” He most recently sold an original pitch, “Bonehead,” to Mouse House-based producer Mike Karz at Karz Entertainment.
