HOLLYWOOD — Senator Entertainment and Propaganda Films have paired with Tim Dowling and Joe Nussbaum on the romantic comedy “Come Back to Me.” Dowling and Nussbaum are the writing-directing team behind the popular short film “George Lucas in Love.” Pic is a go movie, with Senator making pay-or-play offers to actors.
Senator will wholly finance the pic, in which a woman who’s infatuated with a has-been movie star finds herself in a seemingly impossible romance when he enters her life. Script was written by Dowling and will be directed by Nussbaum.
Propaganda topper Rick Hess will produce, with Benderspink and “Lucas” producer Joe Levy serving as exec producers. Senator exec Carsten Lorenz will supervise production.
Nussbaum is developing “How to Eat Fried Worms” for Imagine Entertainment and “The Perfect Man” for Warner Bros. Pictures-based Jerry Weintraub Prods.
