Schedule set for SAG nods

Deadline for submissions Nov. 28; ceremony set for March 10

The Screen Actors Guild will open submissions today for its eighth annual SAG Awards. Deadline is Nov. 28, and the award ceremony is set for March 10.

“We are pleased public interest in the SAG Awards has increased over its seven-year history,” said event chair Yale Summers, noting that ratings for the 2001 telecast on TNT were up 21% on the previous year.

Nominations will be announced on Jan. 29 in five film categories and eight television categories for performances in 2001, chosen by two randomly selected panels totaling 4,200 SAG members from across the U.S.

Award recipients will be determined by balloting the guild’s 98,000 active members.
