Revolution remembers ‘Forgotten’

Contemporary sci-fi thriller penned by 'Angel' Di Pego

In its first seven-figure spec purchase, Revolution Studios has picked up “The Forgotten” from veteran scribe Gerald Di Pego (“Angel Eyes”).

Pic is a contemporary sci-fi thriller about the power of love, centering on a man and woman in their 30s who come together in search of answers after the abduction of their children goes unsolved.

Revolution topper Joe Roth, who worked with Di Pego on the John Travolta starrer “Phenomenon” during his tenure running the Mouse House, made the buy.

“I feel it’s the most promising script we’ve purchased since ‘The Sixth Sense,’ ” Roth said. “It’s an active thriller, but also a very emotional piece. The idea and execution were just terrific.”

No start date for “The Forgotten” has been set, but the pic is being fast-tracked, with Di Pego putting a quick polish on the script.

Revolution exec Todd Garner will oversee the project with Roth, who most likely will produce the pic.

A prolific film and TV writer for three decades, Di Pego is repped by the Sanford-Gross Agency. Other recent film credits include “Instinct” and “Message in a Bottle.”
