Regent reels in ‘Fish’ rights

Fall pic release stars Redgrave, Jones

SANTA MONICA — Regent Entertainment has picked up worldwide rights to “The Annihilation of Fish,” starring Lynn Redgrave and James Earl Jones, with plans for a theatrical release this fall. Regent Intl. will handle the film’s foreign rights.

Directed by Charles Burnett (“To Sleep With Anger”), romantic tale follows two eccentrics who live in neighboring apartments and the struggle that binds them together. Pic was written by Anthony C. Winkler.

“Fish” is presented by Paul Heller in association with American Sterling Prods. Chuck Speed, Regent’s VP of business affairs, brokered the deal.

Pic received the audience prize for full-length film at the Sarasota Film Festival and the Silver Award for a theatrical comedy at the Houston Film Festival.
