Pioneers tip cap to Rehme

Former AMPAS prexy to be feted at 63rd annual dinner

HOLLYWOOD — Robert Rehme has been tapped Pioneer of the Year by the Foundation of the Motion Picture Pioneers, which is dedicated to assisting industry veterans with financial hardships.

The former Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences prexy will be feted Nov. 29 at the foundation’s 63rd annual dinner at L.A.’s Century Plaza Hotel. Past recipients of the award include Sherry Lansing and Jack Valenti.

Rehme, a former president of the charitable foundation and the Will Rogers Memorial Fund, recently completed his fifth term as present of AMPAS and continues to preside on the board of governors.
