NEW YORK — Screenwriter Rob Perez has been hired to script the Americanized remake of the German language comedy “Alles Bob!”
Scott Free Prods. and Intermedia are developing the pic.
Perez wrote the Michael Lehmann-directed “40 Days and 40 Nights,” starring Josh Hartnett, based on his attempt at celibacy after a particularly cruel breakup. Michael London produced the film for Working Title, Universal and Miramax.
“Alles Bob!,” which was directed by Otto Alexander Jahrreiss and released in 1999, concerns a calculating, promiscuous bachelor who gets engaged to his well-connected and wealthy girlfriend, only to fall in love with a different woman.
Scott Free prexy Lisa Ellzey, Julie Golden and Lindsay Dold are overseeing the pic, which Ridley Scott and Giannina Facio are producing.
