Paramount Pictures has promoted three veteran execs within its domestic distribution division. Clark Woods has been upped to exec VP, general sales manager; John Hersker to senior veep, assistant general sales manager; and Mark Mulcahy to veepee, exhibitor services.
Woods, who was formerly senior VP, general sales manager, will continue to report to Wayne Lewellen, president of Paramount theatrical distribution.
Hersker, previously VP of sales administration, will be responsible for the theatrical licensing of all Par films in North America and will supervise all activities of the six regional sales offices in North America, reporting to Woods.
Mulcahy, formerly exec director of exhibitor services, will now report to Hersker and oversee Paramount’s in-theater marketing activities.
“This team of distribution executives is, in my opinion, the finest in our industry, with outstanding judgment and relationships, and a strong commitment to our company,” Lewellen said. “As theatrical distribution continues to represent one of the most challenging aspects of the motion picture business, I am pleased to acknowledge the fine work of Clark, John and Mark, and I anticipate expanded contributions from them in their new positions.”
Woods joined Paramount in 1978 and has held various positions including senior VP, assistant sales manager and VP of the Western division.
Hersker joined the studio in 1979 and became VP of sales administration in 1994.
Mulcahy joined Par in 1993 as exhibitor services representative based in the company’s Sherman Oaks offices and in 1995 was named director of exhibitor services before being promoted in 1996 to executive director.
