And then there were five. If we had listened to every publicist promoting their films in 2000, there should’ve been hundreds of names rattled off during the wee hours of Feb. 13 when the Fab Five were revealed. Now that we have a list to choose from, voters must decide who is worthy of Oscar gold and who will be left wondering “what if.” Of course, the outcome won’t affect world peace and chances are the results won’t be contested in the Supreme Court but come March 25, the whole world will be watching to see what Hollywood thinks of itself.
