Lisa Balshan has been named VP of national promotions at New Line Cinema.
Balshan, who will work out of the company’s New York office, will create promotional campaigns for all upcoming New Line films, including “Blade 2,” “Austin Powers in Goldmember” and “Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers,” the second installment in the company’s “Lord of the Rings” franchise. Balshan will also participate in the national promotions currently in place for “The Lord of The Rings: Fellowship of the Ring,” due for release in December.
“Lisa brings us a unique combination of classical marketing training, years of exhibition experience and a track record of developing cutting edge programs,” said New Line’s president of domestic marketing Russell Schwartz. “We are delighted to welcome her to the New Line family.”
Prior to joining New Line, Balshan was VP of strategic marketing at Loews Cineplex Entertainment, which she joined in 1994 as assistant director of concessions marketing.
