HOLLYWOOD — British thesp Naomi Watts, currently toplining David Lynch’s “Mulholland Drive,” has committed to star opposite Brenda Blethyn, Alfred Molina and Christopher Walken in Miramax’s “Plots With a View.”
Story, penned by Frederick Ponzlov, revolves around two competing funeral parlors in a small U.K. town.
Pic, produced by the Spice Factory’s Jason Piette and Michael Cowan with Snowfall Films’ Suzanne Lyons and Kate Robbins, shoots this month in Wales. Nick Hurran, who directed Blethyn in “Girls’ Night,” will helm.
Watts, who moved to Australia as a young teen, honed her acting skills on Oz drama series “Home and Away.” She went on to star in such pics as “Tank Girl,” “Dangerous Beauty” and the BBC telefilm “The Wyvern Mystery.”
Thesp also recently produced and starred in the short “Ellie Parker,” which screened this year at Sundance and MethodFest.
She next will be seen in Showtime’s “The Outsider,” directed by Randa Haines.
