Mouse skates for Kattan

SNL star fast-tracked to next project

Disney has paid mid-six figures for an untitled comedy pitch as a new vehicle for thesp Chris Kattan following their recent teaming on the upcoming “Corky Romano.”

Disney is releasing “Romano” this Friday.

Scribe Steve Carpenter (“Ocean’s Eleven,” “Blue Streak”) is penning the pic. Mouse-based producer Robert Simonds (“Romano”) brought the project to the studio and will produce. Robert Simonds Co. prexy of production Tracey Trench will exec produce.

The broad comedy concerns a champion figure skater who joins a losing NHL team of bruisers to teach them grace and movement.

Project, expected to be Kattan’s next pic, is being fast-tracked at the Mouse House, where it’s overseen by Buena Vista Motion Picture Group exec VP Mark Vahradian and creative exec Michael Haynes.

Kattan’s other feature credits include “Monkeybone” and “Lucky Numbers.” He is repped by Endeavor.
