Steve Martin will star opposite Queen Latifah in the Touchstone Pictures/Hyde Park comedy “In the Houze,” with helmer Adam Shankman (“The Wedding Planner”) currently circling the project.
Penned by Jason Filardi, “Houze” is the story of a lonely, middle-class guy (Martin) who meets a woman (Latifah) on the Internet who happens to be in prison. When she breaks out to be with him, she wreaks havok on his life.
Hyde Park principals Ashok Amritraj and David Hoberman and senior VP Todd Lieberman will produce the film, with production slated to begin early next year.
Martin, who will next be seen in Artisan Entertainment’s “Novocaine,” is repped by ICM.
Shankman, who most recently directed the upcoming “A Walk To Remember” for Gaylord Films/Warner Bros. Pictures, is repped by UTA.
