LONDON — Lions Gate Intl. has picked up foreign sales rights, excluding Canada, for the action-thriller “Framed.”
“Framed,” directed by Dan Petrie Jr., stars Rob Lowe and Sam Neill in the story of a New York City detective and the Mafia kingpin he is sent to interrogate.
Pic, penned by British scribe Lynda LaPlante, was co-produced by Turner Network Television and Sobini Films. David Brown and Kit Golden will share exec producer credit with LaPlante, Tom Mangan and Sobini Films’ Mark Amin.
“Framed fits perfectly into our diverse lineup of films, which is a mix of quality theatrical and arthouse product,” said Lions Gate Intl. co-prexy Sergei Yershov.
Sobini Films has a first-look deal with Lions Gate Entertainment, with whom Amin negotiated the merger of Trimark Holdings last year.
Sobini is currently developing Alex Rio’s thriller “Poster Boy,” which begins production in December, and an adaptation of Dan Millman’s bestseller “Way of the Peaceful Warrior.”
