Cupo adapts play, to act in feature
CANNES — Ang Lee is set to exec produce a feature version of the play “One Last Ride” for U.S. indie Gravity Entertainment.
Patrick Cupo has adapted his play for the bigscreen, and will play his stage role in the feature.
Set to shoot in New Jersey starting July 1, “One Last Ride” is the story of a compulsive gambler who can’t get his life straight.
Gravity will fully finance the film.
One of three projects in development with China’s CFCC (“Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”) is the German-Chinese story “Lulu.”
Set in the 1930s, plot follows an older Jewish man who flees Berlin for Shanghai, where he tutors two kids.
Gravity also has boarded the Dublin-set action-comedy “Funny Money,” which will be exec produced by Gravity Entertainment prexy Steven Gagnon and Gravity Pictures prexy Kaye Dyal. Pic will be produced by Noel Pearson (“My Left Foot”).
