Inside Move: Pitt rakes in fall leave

WB delays 'Man'

Plans to team Brad Pitt with “Pi” helmer Darren Aronofsky have been moved to the back burner. Although Warner Bros. Pictures still plans to make Aronofsky’s sci-fi epic “The Last Man,” the start date has been shifted from this fall to summer 2002 — the better to hone the script and wait for intended co-star Cate Blanchett, who is having a baby in December.

That leaves Pitt with a free slot this autumn before he begins work on the Coen brothers’ “To the White Sea” for 20th Century Fox in January.

While it’s unclear what Pitt’s 2001 fall project might be, David Fincher is already looking a year ahead in his intent to reteam with his “Fight Club” star. Fincher and producer Art Linson hope to begin production on “Seared” for New Line Cinema in fall 2002.
