India’s most expensive film “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham” (Sometimes Happiness, Sometimes Sorrow), which has a $7.5 million budget, was released worldwide Dec. 14.

Helmed and written by Karan Johar, pic is about a mother’s bond with her two sons and was released on 650 prints, another record for the industry.

Pic brings together an impressive star cast including three Hindi-lingo icons, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan. This is Johar’s second film, after 1999’s local blockbuster “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” (Something is Happening).
