India’s ‘Loving’ to B.O. top

Hindi-lingo pic “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” (The Loving Will Carry the Bride) has broken the record for a continuous run at a theater.

The romantic comedy, set in London and Europe, has been playing at a Bombay’s Maratha Mandir for 300 weeks since its release in 1995.

The film, which stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, was produced under the Yash Raj Films banner and was the debut film of helmer Aditya Chopra.

It has grossed $25 million since its release, a figure which looks set to be topped by “Gadar: Ek Prem Katha” (Mutiny: A Love Story), which has made $22 million since its bow June 4.
