IFP’s Parks awards celebrate ‘Life,’ ‘Other’

Indie Film Awards announced

The IFP presented its fifth annual Gordon Parks Independent Film Awards Wednesday night at Gotham’s DGA Theater.

Vanessa Middleton took home the directing award for her pic “30 Years to Life,” a comedy about friends turning 30.

Jono Oliver nabbed screenwriting honors for “The Other Ones.”

Each prize winner received $10,000, with an additional $5,000 production grant going to helmer Middleton, courtesy of co-sponsor Kodak. Final Draft software also was awarded to script winner Oliver.
