Frederick Huntsberry, previously chief financial officer at Universal Pictures, was appointed senior veep and CFO at parent Universal Studios Monday.
Huntsberry assumes responsibility for all activities of the company’s studio group, including its global recreation businesses, and will continue to oversee all financial activities at Universal Pictures. He will report both to Vincent Grimond, Universal Studios’ senior exec veep for operations and finance, and Universal Pictures chairman Stacey Snider.
“Having headed the financial teams for our core business of television and motion pictures, Frederick is the ideal person to lead Universal’s corporate financial activities,” Grimond said.
“During the last two years, (Huntsberry) has built a strong financial team and has helped to strengthen and grow our international theatrical and video distribution activities,” Snider said.
Prior to becoming CFO at Universal Pictures in August 1999, Huntsberry was CFO at Universal Television & Networks Group. He originally joined U in January 1997 as veep of business development for Universal Pay Television.
Before that, he was a manager in the corporate mergers and acquisitions unit at General Electric.
