CANNES — Veteran German film player Alfred Holighaus has been appointed special coordinator to the Berlin Intl. Film festival.
Holighaus, who most recently worked as the distribution honcho for Senator Film, will be responsible for liaising with the local production scene.
High on the agenda of new festival prexy Dieter Kosslick is creating closer ties between the festival and the German industry.
Kosslick has said he would like Berlin to mirror Cannes in serving as a focal point for the local production and cultural scene. Kosslick took office May 1.
