HOLLYWOOD — As part of a strategic restructuring of Warner Bros.’ overseas operations, veteran German exec Willi Geike has been promoted to the newly created position of VP and managing director for Warner Bros. Pictures Germany and Warner Home Video, Germany & Austria.
Hamburg-based Geike will report to Sue Kroll, president of international marketing; Veronika Kwan-Rubinek, prexy of international distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures; and Ron Sanders, senior VP and co-managing director, Europe, Warner Home Video.
Geike also will work with Simona Benzakein, VP for European production, Warner Bros. Pictures, in the production of local-language films.
Geike will oversee staff and all aspects of the studio’s German distribution and marketing for film and homevideo businesses in Germany and Austria, as well as overseeing German language co-productions and acquisitions.
“Willi’s expertise and this new, combined setup immediately gives Warner Bros. a strategic and business advantage in the distribution and marketing of our theatrical and homevideo releases,” Kroll said.
Geike has been with Warner Bros. for 15 years, most recently as VP and managing director, Germany & Austria for Warner Bros. Pictures.
