German helmer jazzes it up

Helmer Wim Wenders will focus on 72-year-old Cuban jazz musician Rudy Calzado in his new documentary, “Celos De Mi,” which starts shooting next month.

The singer, percussionist and composer has been part of the New York Latin jazz scene since leaving his native Cuba in 1953. Calzado’s tunes have been interpreted by Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Johnny Pacheco and Eddie Palmieri.

Wenders’ Road Movies and Detlef Engelhard are producing.
