Warren Beatty has been tapped by the Costume Designers Guild to receive its Distinguished Director Award.
The honor will be presented at the guild’s third annual awards ceremonies March 17 at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Beatty has been nominated for 15 Academy Awards, including nods for acting, directing, writing and producing. He won an Oscar as director for “Reds” and received acting noms for “Bugsy,” “Reds,” “Heaven Can Wait” and “Bonnie and Clyde.”
“We are honored to give Warren Beatty this year’s Distinguished Directors Award,” said Cliff Chally, prexy of the Costume Designers Guild. “As a director, actor and producer, Warren understands and knows how to use the beauty of costume design to enhance a film and captivate the audience.”
