Scott Toay has been tapped veep of branch operations and administration at 20th Century Fox’s domestic theatrical distribution division as part of a recent restructuring.
Toay will be responsible for reporting film grosses on behalf of the distribution department.
Nearly two months ago, Fox began shifting responsibility for the collection of major exhibitor film rental and advertising revenues from branch offices to a newly formed home office unit, which Toay will oversee.
“It’s a much simpler system,” said Bruce Snyder, prexy of domestic theatrical distribution.
Toay has worked at Fox for the past 21 years. He started his career in the marketing and advertising division. He later moved into domestic theatrical distribution, where he has served as exec director for the past four years.
“Every major studio has to have a guy like Scott who makes sure that things just run properly,” said Snyder.
