Making a preemptive bid worth high-six against low-seven figures, Fox 2000 has snagged spec script “Selling Time” from scribe and DreamWorks Television prexy Dan McDermott.
A supernatural thriller, “Selling Time” centers on a man who experiences the worst day of his life. When given a chance to relive it, he is met with unexpected consequences.
A priority project at Fox 2000, “Selling Time” will be overseen by production veep Peter Kang for division topper Elizabeth Gabler.
John Davis (“Dr. Doolittle II”) will produce the pic with his Fox-based Davis Entertainment Co.
The script was brought to the studio by Davis Entertainment director of development Lil Phillips and prexy Wyck Godfrey. Both will oversee development for Davis.
McDermott, who is repped by the Broder Kurland Webb Uffner Agency, recently developed and scripted ABC pilot “The Governor” with partner Maria Bello (“Coyote Ugly”), who is attached to star. Both will serve as exec producers, should the Alphabet pick up the half-hour laffer as a series (Daily Variety, Aug. 23).
“Selling Time” is the first film script that McDermott has sold.
