Exec credited in acquiring 'Dancer,' 'Grace,' 'Fury'
NEW YORK — Fine Line Features has upped Alexandra Rossi to vice president of European acquisitions and production.
Rossi will remain based in the U.K., reporting to prexy Mark Ordesky and senior veep of European production and acquisitions Ileen Maisel.
“Alexandra began with Fine Line as an unpaid intern, and has risen through the ranks because of her great instincts and unbridled enthusiasm,” Ordesky said.
Working closely with Maisel, Rossi will be responsible for acquiring European films and developing relationships with filmmakers both in the U.K. and in continental Europe.
During her three-year tenure, she has helped bring into the company such pics as Lars von Trier’s Palme d’Or-winner “Dancer in the Dark”; “Saving Grace”; “The Filth and the Fury”; and “Une Liaisons Pornographic” (An Affair of Love).
Prior to joining Fine Line, Rossi was head of theatrical acquisitions and marketing at RCS Films and TV in Rome.
Upcoming Fine Line releases include Werner Herzog’s “Invincible,” starring Tim Roth; Todd Solondz’s “Storytelling”; Michel Gondry’s “Human Nature,” starring Patricia Arquette and Tim Robbins; and Liliana Cavani’s “Ripley’s Game,” starring John Malkovich.
