Dimension Films has tapped Jim Powers vice president of production. He reports to Andrew Rona and Brad Weston, Dimension’s co-heads of production.
Dimension has also promoted Nick Phillips to manager of production and development and Katrina Wolfe to manager of creative affairs and casting. Both are based in Gotham.
A six-year vet of Shooting Gallery, Powers was responsible for creating the development department. He first served as director of development and then as veep of development and production.
While at Shooting Gallery, he was the creative executive on 10 films, including Kenny Lonergan’s Oscar-nominated “You Can Count on Me” and Hampton Fancher’s “Minus Man.”
Moving up the ranks
Phillips, who joined Miramax in 1997 as a receptionist, worked in the business and legal affairs department and then as an executive assistant to Rona. Phillips will be a creative executive on the upcoming Dimension productions “The Darkness” and “Into the Ether.”
Wolfe came to Miramax in 1998 as an executive assistant to Steve Hutensky, senior veep of business and legal affairs, then served as an executive assistant to Peter Schwerin, veep of production and development. Wolfe’s responsibilities include overseeing casting for “Scary Movie 2” and the next installment of the “Halloween” franchise as well as all upcoming Dimension productions.
