The Danish government is setting up a task force to help establish local film production centers along the lines of Sweden-based Trollhattan’s Film I Vast, which will be involved in 14 pics this year. The task force will approach the European Union, which is supporting three regional orgs in Sweden, for coin.
Arhus — Denmark’s second-largest city — has launched the fourth Jutland Film Fund, which will back such projects as Folmer Jepsen’s new series for pubcaster DR2 TV, “My Life as Bent.” The fund will have a $3 million annual budget.
Arhus will start work this fall on a $7.5 million film center in a former power plant. The Danish Film Institute, pubcaster DRTV-Province Division, production house Frontier and the East of Eden cinema have booked space in the center.
