Rachael Leigh Cook (“Josey and the Pussycats”) and Chris O’Donnell (“Vertical Limit”) are in negotiations to star opposite Michael Rapaport and Jeremy Davies in Davis Entertainment’s feature “29 Palms.” Pic will be fully financed by Alliance Atlantis, which holds worldwide rights.
Bill Pullman will play a cameo role in the Coen-esque thriller, which also features Jeremy Davis, Jon Polito, Keith David and Michael Lerner.
J. Todd Harris of Davis Entertainment Classics and Brian Lord will produce the film with Alliance Atlantis’ Marc Forby and O’Donnell’s George Street Pictures.
International commercials helmer Leonardo Ricagni makes his feature directorial debut with the project, which has a tentative April start date. Tyro scribe Tino Lucente penned the script.
Davis and Rapaport are exec producing for Davis Ent. Co-producers are Craig Davis-Roth and Michael Lindenbaum.
Project was brought in by Patrice Theroux, president of Alliance Atlantis motion picture distribution.
Alliance Atlantis’ Ed Harris-starring and helming vehicle “Pollock,” is in release internationally and through Sony Pictures Classics domestically.
