HOLLYWOOD — Actor Clifton Collins Jr., who co-stars in DreamWorks’ “The Last Castle,” is in negotiations to star opposite LL Cool J in Intermedia Films’ actioner “Mindhunters.”
Pic, to be helmed by Renny Harlin, goes before cameras in November in the Netherlands. Project is a collaboration between Intermedia-based Outlaw Prods. and Avenue Pictures.
Story follows an FBI psychological profiling division and its new recruiting class; Collins would play a trainee who uses a wheelchair. LL Cool J also would be one of the recruits.
Although Collins has been steadily cranking out pics for years (“187,” “The Price of Glory,” “Light It Up”), he began to shine with breakout gigs in Steven Soderbergh’s “Traffic” and Joel Schumacher’s “Tigerland.” The “Castle” job came on the heels of his “Traffic” perf.
Thesp, repped by ICM, manager Steven Fenton and attorney David Krintzman, recently wrapped back-to-back gigs in “American Girl” and “The Rules of Attraction.”
