Col tastes ‘Candy’ pitch

Inspired by 'Fistful of Dollars,' pic follows kids on Halloween

HOLLYWOOD — Columbia Pictures has made a preemptive purchase of a Halloween-themed comedy adventure pitch tentatively titled “A Fistful of Candy.”

Deal will treat scribe Mike Bender, a writer and co-producer on Col’s upcoming “Not Another Teen Movie,” to a mid-six- against high-six-figure payday.

Set on Halloween night and inspired by spaghetti Western “A Fistful of Dollars,” pitch follows the adventures of a band of youngsters who plot to end the hated yearly shakedown of their Halloween pillowcases by a gang of tough older kids.

“Fistful” was developed by and will be produced by management and production company Benderspink and Karz Entertainment. Roy Lee and Russell Hollander will exec produce.

Mike Bender was repped in the deal by Endeavor and Benderspink.
