NEW YORK — Columbia Pictures has made a spec buy of “The Last First Kiss,” a romance set in the world of tabloid journalism, which will be produced by Overbrook Entertainment.
Script was written by Kevin Bisch, a Gotham-based journo who’s a former Details editor and contributes to the New York Times.
Deal was orchestrated by Teddy Zee, the former Col exec who recently was named president of Overbrook by partners Will Smith and James Lassiter.
Script will be developed to be produced by the pair but is also being eyed as a possible film in which Smith might star. Overbrook’s overall deal is at Universal, but Smith is toplining Sony’s big holiday film, the Michael Mann-directed “Ali.”
