Newcomers include German Cinema, Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Sithengi for South Africa

The Cannes Market has added three pavilions to the International Village at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, which runs May 9-19.

The Export Union for German Cinema, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Sithengi for South Africa will take pavilions alongside the American Pavilion, the British Pavilion, Europe’s MEDIA Program, Italian Pavilion, France’s Centre National du Cinema (CNC), the Holland Film House, the Irish Film Board and the Korean Film Commission.

“With over 4,000 journalists in attendance, almost 7,000 film industry professionals from 70 countries and an additional 20,000 festival attendees, national institutions are perfectly placed to promote their industry and talent during the Cannes Film Festival,” said Jerome Paillard, executive director of the Cannes Market.
