The new specialty network Independent Film Channel Canada (IFC) has appointed Johanna Lunn Montgomery director of programming.
Effective June 4, Montgomery will develop a slate of inhouse and co-produced programming, as well as acquisitions for IFC, which is set to launch in September.
Montgomery comes to IFC from CTV, where she was head of independent production for Atlantic Canada. She founded children’s film festival ScreenScene: Film & Television for Young People.
The Independent Film Channel Canada is operated by Salter Street Films of Halifax, which, pending regulatory approval, has been taken over by Toronto’s Alliance Atlantis.
