'Hard Luck,' 'Exiles,' 'Way Off' join preem slate

The third annual Method Fest Independent Film Festival will kick off June 15 in Pasadena with the world preem of Larry Clark’s “Bully.”

Fest, billed as feting the actor and the acting method, runs through June 22 at Pasadena’s Laemmle Playhouse 7. In all, 28 pics will screen.

“Bully,” distributed by Lions Gate, stars Brad Renfro, Nick Stahl, Rachel Miner and Bijou Phillips. It follows a suburban teen whose friends and victims join forces to bring his reign of terror to an abrupt end. A Q&A session will follow the screening at a nearby private estate where guests will have the opportunity to meet the film’s stars, as well as Clark.

Also set for world debuts are “Hard Luck,” “Exiles in Paradise,” “Way Off Broadway,” “Rustin” and “Tomorrow by Midnight.”

Fest will wrap with an encore of “Tomorrow by Midnight,” followed by an unspooling of Finnish film “The Restless” and closing-night pic “Sobrevivire” (I Will Survive), from Spain, which makes its L.A. preem.

Tickets are available via Ticketweb.com. For information, call (310) 535-9230 or visit www.methodfest.com.
