Stockwell to helm, Grazer to produce 'Surf Girls'

Kate Bosworth will be waxing up the surfboard for an untitled Imagine and Universal romantic comedy known around town as “Surf Girls of Maui.” Film is directed by John Stockwell (“Undercover”) and produced by Brian Grazer.

Bosworth, last seen in “Remember the Titans,” also starred in the TV series “Young Americans.” In “Surf Girls,” she plays a young girl who migrates to Hawaii to ride the waves. She works as a maid in a resort hotel and falls in love with a football player from the mainland. The script was written by Lizzie Weiss, Stockwell and Kario Salem. Buffy Shutt and Kathy Jones are exec producers. Bosworth is repped by UTA.
