APG, Canal bank on spec

Carr-penned horror centers on Wall Street investment banker

APG and Studio Canal have bought an untitled supernatural horror spec by Brian Carr.

It’s the story of a Wall Street investment banker with an uncanny knack for picking stocks who is haunted by premonitions of her own death, and who becomes the target of a vicious killer.

APG/Studio Canal pre-empted the project for a low- to mid-six figures before the holiday weekend, despite strong interest from such companies as Fox, Paramount, Intermedia and Bel Air.

“I think it’s a terrific screenplay with huge potential to be a commercial horror thriller and we’d like to get the picture up and running as fast as possible,” APG prexy Cathy Schulman said.

The project was brought into APG by veep Sean O’Keefe.

A former writer on UPN’s “All Souls” who sold the spec “Into the Ether” to Dimension earlier this year, Carr was repped by Metropolitan Talent’s Dino Carlaftes and Media Chase Management.
