Savannah fest visits ‘Bedroom’

Jane Fonda receives lifetime achievement award

The Savannah Film and Video fest kicks off its fourth year Saturday with Todd Field’s “In the Bedroom.” Fest, which runs Saturday through Nov. 3, will feature more than 75 films, videos, shorts, docus and student films from around the world.

This year’s lifetime achievement in film award will be presented to Jane Fonda, followed by a screening of “Klute.” Fest exclusives include the unspooling of winners from Cannes’ Critics Week, and the first HBO award for best student film (worth $5,000), to be presented by HBO Films prexy Colin Callender at fest’s end.
