PRAGUE — The 36th Karlovy Vary Film Festival has lined up its main jury for the July 5-14 event.
British screenwriter Lee Hall (“Billy Elliot”), Iranian director Jafar Panahi (“The Circle”), Macedonian actress Labina Mitevska (“Before the Rain”), Indian critic Malti Sahai and Danish film expert Lissy Bellaiche join Czech helmer Jan Hrebejk and chairman Krzysztof Zanussi.
In Zanussi’s honor, the festival plans screenings of “Life as a Fatal Sexually Transmitted Disease” and “Hidden Treasures.”
The documentary jury will include former Berlinale Forum programmer Erica Gregor and doc helmers Olga Sommerova and Victor Kossakovski.
Fest will present an homage to late Italo helmer Luchino Visconti, screening a director’s cut of “Rocco and His Brothers.”
