HOLLYWOOD — Bob Marley, off his performance at the recent U.S. comedy festival in Aspen, has inked a deal with Stu Smiley’s newly formed Comedy Arts Studios and HBO Independent Prods. to develop a network show.
The signing marks the first development deal under the Comedy Arts Studio-HBO umbrella. CAS has a commitment for four half-hour stand-up specials on HBO and has an option on Marley to fulfill one of those commitments.
Marley, represented by Laugh Factory owner Jamie Masada, is a regular on the comedy club and talkshow circuit. Smiley is co-founder of the Aspen fest and is exec producer of the CBS sitcom “Everybody Loves Raymond.”
